About

Marathon Helicopters opened its doors April 2016 and is located at the Seward Airport in Seward, Alaska.

The company name was chosen in recognition of famous Mt. Marathon which overlooks our town. Seward hosts the 2nd oldest foot race in the United States every July 4th called the Mt. Marathon Race.

The pilot and owner Mike Culver has been flying in this area for over 10 years and is happy to call Seward his home. We currently operate the R44 helicopter which has 3 passenger seats. The R44 helicopter provides a window seat for each guest giving you the best flying experience available.

Our office is located at 2210-B Airport Rd, Seward Alaska. During the winter of 2015/2016 we purchased a new 40 foot shipping container in Anchorage and spent the winter converting it into our office. We have a front and back porch, as well as a 40 foot deck on the roof which is a great viewing platform for aircraft and animals. Three very large windows give us amazing visibility from the inside as well as plenty of natural sunlight.

Marathon Helicopters has been authorized by the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) under FAR Part 135 to fly air charters in Alaska. Marathon Helicopters has also been authorized by the FAA under FAR Part 133 to perform external load operations.
