Marathon Helicopters flightseeing tours cover a variety of areas on the Kenai Peninsula. On all of our tours you will view waterfalls, glaciers, Resurrection Bay, and potentially a great variety of Alaska wildlife. 

 

Our helicopters can accommodate up to 3 guests per flight and everyone gets a window seat in our aircraft. There is a 2 passenger minimum per flight and any child under 24 months old can ride on a lap for free. Pilot Mike is the most seasoned pilot in the area. He has been flying in and around Seward for over 10 years and knows all the best places to go based on the day's conditions.

Mt. Marathon
Drop Off

5 Minute Flight

Mt. Marathon Helicopter Drop-Off (or Pick-Up). We will provide a scenic flight around town before helicoptering you up to the Mt. Marathon Bowl located around 1,800 feet above town. Go ahead and explore the Alaska's famous Mt. Marathon, and take your time hiking down this iconic landmark.  This is a fantastic large group ½ day excursion.

 

Trip May be unavailable in May due to snow conditions.

Bear Glacier
Tour

30 Minute Flight

Our most popular tour begins south over Resurrection Bay’s coast where you may see a variety of Alaskan Sea Life. We will explore valleys filled with enormous waterfalls and search for bears & goats. Entering Bear Glacier Lagoon you will view hundreds of icebergs from your seat prior to heading up the Harding Icefield. We will continue behind the Kenai Mountains into Paradise Valley and travel past Exit Glacier on our way back to town.

1 Hour Flying Expedition

60 Minute Flight

Here is the cream of the crop. This 1 hour tour includes everything the 45 minute tour offers with another extension south, past Pederson & Holgate Glacier, and then toward Northwestern Glacier, another quite active Tidewater Glacier.

 

This tour includes more flying along the coastline to look for marine animals. You will be able to view the breath-taking Harding Icefield on this adventure!

Discovery Flight
 

15 Minute Flight

Your tour takes off eastward from the Seward, Alaska Airport and heads across Resurrection Bay, over the ridge of Mt. Alice, up Godwin Glacier, and over into the adjoining valley.

 

We will soar above 4 Hanging Glaciers that continue to carve the valley below. After exploring the glaciers, we will pop over to Godwin Glacier and search for bears, goats and eagles along the way.

Eastbound Tour

40 Minute Flight

Let's go look for bears, moose, goats, and eagles! This eastbound tour takes us towards one of the largest icefields in the United States, the Sargent Icefield. We will fly close to at least 7 spectacular glaciers on the trip. We will explore remote Nellie Juan Lake where sometimes we will see large brown bears and moose.

 

Waterfalls and rolling meadows stretch far on this flight, so have your camera ready!

External Load
Operations

​

Do you require delivery of gear and supplies to remote locations in the Seward area?

 

We can lift up to 500 lbs with the R44 helicopter and can sling load your gear right to you. We are certified under FAR Part 133 to conduct Class A and Class B External Load Operations.

Glacier Landing

30 Minute Trip

This is an addition to the 15 Minute Tour to include a landing and 15 minutes of exploration on the ground. 

 

We will either bring you to the toe of a massive Valley Glacier, or fly you to the top of a glacier known as "Glacier Planet Mars"

 

This experience can be added to any of our longer tours as well.

Icefield Tour

45 Minute Flight

The 45 Minute Icefield Tour is an extension of our 30 Minute Bear Glacier Tour. We will continue towards Aialik and Pederson Glacier which will allow us  get a better look at the Harding Icefield traveling south.

​

Aialik Glacier is a 400 foot tall tidewater glacier where will will have a chance to see calving ice chunk off into the ocean. On this flight we will also have a good opportunity to see large Alaskan Black and Brown Bears as well as an abundance of sea life.
